I used the pi-top kit and it does work, so it’s not a total miss. But in my opinion, the overall build feels a bit too flimsy for the price. The plastic has a cheaper feel to it, and a couple of the pieces didn’t fit together as snugly as I would’ve liked. Maybe I was expecting something more sturdy, but it just didn’t feel as solid as I hoped

Getting everything set up was fine, but the coding activities really didn’t run smoothly. They kept glitching, and the instructions were confusing enough that my kid got frustrated quickly.

I’ve had a frustrating time trying to get accessories from pi-top.com. A friend actually recommended the kit to me, and while the main product seemed promising, every time I go back to buy the extra bits I need, they’re either out of stock or not listed anymore.

It kind of feels like once you’ve bought the main kit, you’re on your own if you need replacement parts or add-ons later. That makes it harder to keep using it long term, which is a shame because I really wanted it to be something I could build on over time...

I tried this out with my class, and it ended up being more of a headache than I expected. A few of the kids were excited by the idea, but the setup took way too long, and some of the pieces were just too fiddly for a normal busy lesson. The guides were okay at first, but when something didn’t work, they didn’t give me enough to go on. After a couple of frustrating attempts, I found myself trusting it less and less to run smoothly when I actually needed it to. It might be fine for a small group, but in a full classroom it just didn’t really work for us.

I’m not sure if I’m missing something here, but this just didn’t really keep my class engaged. The students seemed interested for a few minutes, then got bored quickly and barely ended up using the kit. I was hoping it would be more interactive or hold their attention a bit longer.

I’m really annoyed with this. I only had it for a few months before the hinge cracked, which is ridiculous. It clearly wasn’t made well, and I’m stuck dealing with something that should’ve lasted way longer

I grabbed the pi-top kit because it looked like a solid way to learn and mess around with tech stuff, but man, the price is kind of ridiculous for what you actually get. Some of the parts are decent, sure, but once you start using it, it feels like you paid premium money for a box that’s acting all fancy for no reason.

Setup wasn’t a total nightmare or anything, but for the cash, I expected way more. if you’re not too lazy to do a bit of digging, you could probably piece together something similar for less instead of paying for this overpriced little goblin of a kit. Not complete garbage, just not worth the price in my opinion

I’m not sure if it’s just my device, but the battery seems to drain fast and some apps lag more than I expected. It’s still usable, but I keep wondering if this is normal or if something might be wrong with mine.

I had trouble getting my pi-top set up and support mostly just sent me the same basic copy-paste steps. Replies took forever, and it felt like they weren’t really reading what I’d already explained. I ended up finding the fix myself on some forums, which was frustrating for something that’s supposed to come with proper tech support

I was really hoping this would be better, but the battery barely makes it through an hour before it’s dying on me, which is super frustrating because I feel like I’m constantly checking the percentage, looking for a charger, and not actually getting to use it the way I wanted.

I returned my pi-top order and honestly??? getting my refund was such a hassle!! I had to keep chasing them over and over, and the replies were super slow... plus not really helpful when they did finally respond. It just felt like nobody was actually checking on it??? After dealing with all that, I definitely wouldn’t buy from them again...

I picked this up to help with class planning, but the teacher resources felt unfinished. A lot of it was either missing, barely explained, or just not useful enough to actually save me time. I ended up making my own worksheets anyway, which kind of defeated the whole purpose. It also gave me that feeling of being just another ticket number, like the teacher side of things wasn’t really thought through. Not something I’d use again.

My order actually arrived quickly, but it wasn’t what I ordered. One piece was missing, and they sent me a different cable than the one I picked. I reached out to support and they did respond, but it took a little while, which was frustrating since I needed everything for a project. On top of that, the constant reminders and follow-ups felt kind of aggressive, especially when the issue was on their end. Overall, annoying experience.

I thought getting my boards up and running would be straightforward, but nope, it turned into this whole dramatic saga. Some stuff just didn’t work for me, and the supported options felt way too limited. I know that might not bother everyone, but for what I needed, it was super frustrating
